Ravens Place RB Justin Forsett On I.R., Activate DE Brent Urban

The Baltimore Ravens announced a series of roster moves on Friday including activating DE Brent Urban from short-term injured reserve and placing RB Justin Forsett on season-ending I.R.

  • The Ravens also signed G Marcel Jensen to their practice squad and released WR Daniel Brown.

Forsett, 30, is in the first year of his three-year, $9 million contract that included a $2.1 million signing bonus. He’ll make a base salary of $900,000 this season and another $3 million in each of the final two years of the agreement.

According to OverTheCap.com, the Ravens could free up $2.3 million in cap space next year by releasing Forsett. Doing so would also create $1.4 million in dead money for the Ravens.

Entering today’s game, Forsett had ran for 615 yards on 147 carries (4.2 YPC) to go along with 31 receptions for 153 yards receiving and two total touchdowns.

Urban, 24, wound up sustained a torn biceps back in August, and the initial belief was that it could be a season-ending injury. However, the Ravens ultimately got some good news regarding the severity of his biceps injury.

Urban is in the third year of his four-year, $2.52 million rookie contract that included a $300,584 signing bonus. He stands to make a base salary of $435,000 for the 2015 season.

Last year, he was forced to miss the entire 2014 season after he suffered a torn ACL in his right knee.
