Bengals Worked Out 7 DBs Including Bradley Fletcher & Robert McClain

Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports that the Bengals worked out seven defensive backs including: Chykie Brown, Tony Carter, Bradley Fletcher, Brandon Ghee, Robert McClain, Corey White, and Asa Jackson.

  • Cincinnati ultimately elected to sign Jackson to their practice squad.

Fletcher, 29, is a former third-round pick of the Rams back in 2009. He joined the Eagles as an unrestricted free agent back in 2013 before signing on with the Patriots this past March.

New England signed him to a one-year, $1.5 million contract, but wound up releasing him a little over a month ago in a move that created $1,581,250 in available cap space.

This season, Fletcher has recorded 10 tackles and a forced fumble for the Patriots over the course of two games.

McClain, 27, is a former seventh round pick of the Panthers back in 2010. He lasted just over a year in Carolina before he was waived at the start of the 2011 season.

Since then, McClain has played for the Jaguars and Falcons before joining the Patriots as an unrestricted free agent this past March. Unfortunately for McClain, he was among the Patriots’ roster cuts at the start of the season.

In 2014, McClain appeared in all 16 games for the Falcons and recorded 59 tackles, one sack, two interceptions, and five pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 90 cornerback out of 108 qualifying players.
