NFL Notes: Los Angeles, 49ers, Chargers, & Steelers

Scott M. Reid of the Organge County Register reports that members of the NFL’s Committee on Los Angeles Opportunities are pushing for a vote on teams relocating to the second largest market.

According to Reid, allies of Rams owner Stan Kroenke have begun lobbying for a deal in which the Chargers, who would join the Rams in playing at a stadium in Inglewood.

League owners reportedly expect Kroenke and his allies to pitch the idea of a second team relocating to Inglewood being an equal partner with the Rams.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that Chargers owner Dean Spanos has no desire to partner with Kroenke because of concerns about the team being a tenant in someone else’s stadium.

Ben Roethlisberger told reporters that doctors cleared him of his concussion and he’s able to participate in practice on Wednesday.

I took the test this morning, I was told I could practice,” said Roethlisberger. “That is all I know. I don’t know the results of the test, but I was told I could practice. Until Coach Tomlin announces something different, I will be ready to practice.

Regarding him play this weekend, Roethlisberger said he assumes he’ll be a go.

I would assume so,” said Roethlisberger. “I guess if you are allowed to practice, you can play. I will go out there today and be ready to go.
