Broncos Plan On Starting QB Brock Osweiler For The Rest Of The Season?

Update:

The Denver Broncos have already refuted the report from Jason Cole about Brock Osweiler remaining the team’s starting quarterback for the remainder of the season.

Jason Cole of B/R, citing sources within the Broncos’ organization, reports that Denver plans to move forward with Brock Osweiler as their starting quarterback for the remainder of the 2015 season.

According to Cole, it would take Osweiler “struggling significantly” in order for the Broncos to go back to Peyton Manning once he’s healthy enough to return.

Cole points out that Osweiler has only played in two games this season, and NFL teams could begin to figure him out moving forward, which is why it will be important for Manning to remain ready to play.

Osweiler, 25, is in the final year of his four-year, $3.516 million rookie contract that included a $997,584 signing bonus. He’ll make a base salary of $660,000 for the 2015 season before becoming an unrestricted free agent next year.

This season, Osweiler has thrown for 666 yards while completing 61.3 percent of his passes to go along with four touchdowns and two interceptions.

We’ll have more regarding the Broncos quarterback situation as the news is available.
