Browns To Consider Placing CB Joe Haden & WR Andrew Hawkins On I.R.

Browns HC Mike Pettine told reporters on Thursday that they will likely have some discussions about potentially placing CB Joe Haden and WR Andrew Hawkins — who are dealing with concussions — on season-ending injured reserve, per Tom Withers.

Haden last appeared in a game back in Week 8 while Hawkins has been out since he suffered a second concussion in span of three weeks.

Haden, 26, is in the second year of his six-year, $74.678 million contract that included $45 million guaranteed. He stands to make $8.3 million in 2015 to go along with base salaries of $10.1 million (2016), $11.1 million (2017), $11.1 million (2018) and $10.4 million (2019) over the remainder of the agreement.

This season, Haden has appeared in eight games and recorded 22 tackles, a fumble recovery and two pass defenses for the Browns.

Hawkins, 29, is in the second year of his  four-year, $13.6 million contract that included $4 million guaranteed. He’ll make a base salary of $2.3 million this season to go along with $2.5 million in 2016 and: $2.6 million in 2017.

On the season, Hawkins has appeared in eight games and caught 27 passes for 276 yards receiving and no touchdowns for the Browns.

We’ll have more regarding the Browns possibily placing them on injured reserve as the news is available.
