Bills Promote RB Mike Gillislee, Waive C Greg Ikard

Update:

The Bills announced Saturday that they’ve waived C Gabe Ikard to make room for RB Mike Gillislee, who has been promoted their active roster.

Ikard, 25, originally signed on with the Titans as an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma back in May of last year. He was waived at the start of the season, but was later claimed off of waivers by the Bills.

This season, Ikard has appeared in three games for the Bills.

The Buffalo Bills have promoted RB Mike Gillislee to their active roster on Friday, according to Joe Buscaglia.

They’ll need to cut someone loose in order to create a roster spot for Gillislee.

The Bills’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. LB A.J. Tarpley
  2. DE Jerel Worthy
  3. DB Sammy Seamster
  4. WR Walter Powell
  5. DE Cedric Reed
  6. TE Nick O’Leary
  7. DB Merrill Noel
  8. G Cyril Richardson
  9. WR Dez Lewis

Gillislee, 23, was a fifth-round pick of the Dolphins in the 2013 NFL Draft. He spent just over two years in Miami before he was among their roster cuts at the start of the regular season.

The Cardinals added Gillislee to their practice squad a few weeks later before cutting him loose and replacing him with RB Robert Hughes. The Bills signed him to their practice squad close to a month ago.

Gillislee hasn’t appeared in an NFL game since his rookie season with the Dolphins.
