Chargers Signed GM Tom Telesco To A Multi-Year Extension, HC Mike McCoy’s Fate To Be Determined

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that the Chargers signed GM Tom Telesco to a multi-year extension this summer, which means his job is safe.

  • Michael Gehlken reports that Telesco’s contract will keep him under team control through the 2019 season.

While Telesco is “very much” a part of the team’s plans moving forward, La Canfora mentions that the Chargers plan to review the coaching staff after the season.

There has been a lot of talk that Chargers HC Mike McCoy is on the hot seat after a very disappointing 2015 season for the team.

According to La Canfora, the Chargers have faith in McCoy and have been impressed by his leadership in the face of so many injuries. In the end, La Canfora expects McCoy’s fate to be determined after the season.

Others have said that a potential move to Los Angeles could factor into the team’s decision to retain McCoy, who is under contract through the 2016 season.

We’ll have more regarding McCoy’s future with the Chargers as the news is available.
