Former Bengals DT Devon Still told Coley Harvey of ESPN that he has future/reserve contracts from two different teams. However, Still declined to say what teams have extended him offers.
“I just want to go somewhere where I have the opportunity to continue on with my football career and make an impact,” Still said.
Teams begin signing practice squad players and available free agents to future/reserve contracts once their season is officially over, so the bulk of them take place in January.
Players are essentially given a camp invite to compete for a roster spot next summer with these types of contracts.
Still, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Bengals. Last year, Still was released at the start of the season, but he was later added to the team’s practice squad.
Cincinnati brought Still back on a one-year, $740,000 contract back in March. However, he was among their final roster cuts at the start of the season.
The Colts and Titans later brought Still in for workouts in past few months, but he has yet to sign on with a new team.
In 2014, Still appeared in 12 games and recorded 19 tackles for the Bengals. Pro Football Focus has him down for playing 237 snaps last year.
