Colts Promoting LB Amarlo Herrera To Active Roster

Stephen Holder reports that the Indianapolis Colts are promoting LB Amarlo Herrera to their active roster.

Holder mentions that with linebackers Jerrell Freeman and Nate Irving dealing with injuries, the Colts had to add some depth at the position.

Herrera, 24, was selected in the sixth round of this year’s draft. He’s in the first year of his four-year, $2,384,656 rookie contract that included $104,656 fully guaranteed and will make a base salary of $435,000 this season and $525,000 in 2016.

This season, Herrera has been active for one game, but has yet to record a single statistic.
