Colts Place ILB Nate Irving On I.R. & Sign CB Jalil Brown

The Colts announced a series of roster moves on Tuesday including signing CB Jalil Brown to a contract and placing ILB Nate Irving on season-ending injured reserve.

  • Colts promoted ILB Amarlo Herrera to their active roster.
  • Colts signed LB Edwin Jackson to their practice squad.

Irving, 27, is in the first year of his three-year, $7.25 million contract that included $1.5 million guaranteed. He stands to make base salaries of $750,000 (2015), $2 million (2016), and $2.25 million (2017).

This season, Irving has appeared in eight games and recorded 14 tackles, one sacks, a forced fumble and two pass defenses for the Colts.

Brown, 28, is a former fourth-round pick of the Kansas City Chiefs. He spent close to three years with the team before he was placed on waivers and later claimed by the Dolphins.

Since then, Brown has had multiple stints with the Dolphins and Colts before he was released with an injury settlement a few months ago.

This season, Brown has appeared in four games and recorded 15 tackles and a pass defense.
