Donald Penn Hoping To Re-Sign With Raiders, Finish Career In Oakland

Raiders veteran OT Donald Penn made it clear that he wants to finish his career in Oakland.

“I want to retire a Raider, I think I’ve made that pretty clear,” Penn said, via Bill Williamson of ESPN.com. “But I’m just focused on Denver and then the rest of the season. I want to finish strong and get some momentum going for next year.

Williamson mentions that it would be surprising to see Penn reach free agency, and instead suggests he and the Raiders could have an agreement in place that will keep in Oakland for the remainder of his career.

Penn, 32, is in the final year of his two-year, $9.6 million contract that included $4.2 million guaranteed. He’ll make a base salary of $4.6 million this season before becoming an unrestricted free agent next March.

This year, Penn has appeared in all 12 games for the Raiders and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 10 offensive tackle out of 77 qualifying players.
