NFL Notes: Damontre Moore, Chargers, Patriots, & Seahawks

Damontre Moore

Ian Rapoport reports that former Giants DE Damontre Moore was waived after he got into a fight with fellow DL Cullen Jenkins over a pair of headphones.

Odell Beckham apparently gave everyone on the Giants’ roster a pair of Beats By Dre headphones this week. However, Jenkins took two pairs for himself, which triggered the fight with Moore.

Dan Graziano reports that Moore was cut because he “repeatedly violated team rules and had behavior and maturity issues that have not improved during his three years in the NFL.

  • Kevin Acee of the Union Tribune mentions that few inside the Chargers organization believe it will come together for rookie RB Melvin Gordon this season.
  • If HC Mike McCoy isn’t back with the team in 2016, Acee believes it’s likely their game against the Broncos that likely did him in.
  • Acee adds that “it’s not unfathomable” he’s back for another year, depending on how the team finishes the season.

Seahawks HC Pete Carroll mentioned that it’s still too soon for a timeline regarding Marshawn Lynch‘s return from an abdominal injury.

“Marshawn is working out with us rehabbing,” Carroll said, via Seahawks.com. “He’s in the program here to try to get back… We’re still just kind of waiting. It’s a day-to-day thing that really will be week-to-week. Not this week for sure. We’ll see what happens next week.”
