Uncertain When/If Colts QB Andrew Luck Will Return From Lacerated Kidney

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that there’s “uncertainty exists” as to when or if Colts QB Andrew Luck will be able to return this season.

Colts owner Jim Irsay suggested that Luck could return from his lacerated kidney this week, but it sounds like this was overly optimistic.

Luck mentioned that his goal is to practice this week, but added that he still doesn’t feel 100 percent healthy, per Kevin Bowen.

Luck, 26, is under contract for another two years and stands to make base salaries of $3,404,727 and $16.155 million during this time. Of course, everyone around the league expects him to ultimately become the highest paid player in NFL history at some point in the next year or so.

This season, Luck has completed 55.3 percent of his passes to go along with 1,881 yards, 15 touchdowns and 12 interceptions over the course of seven games. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 34 quarterback out of 36 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding Luck’s return as the news is available.
