49ers OL Alex Boone Out For Season With MCL Sprain

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media confirms reports from Monday that 49ers OL Alex Boone is out for the season with an MCL sprain.

The 49ers will likely place him on season-ending injured reserve in the coming days.

Boone, 28, is in the final year of his five-year, $7.450 million contract that included $2.24 million guaranteed. He stands to make a base salary of $3.4 million this season before becoming an unrestricted free agent next March.

His 2015 season ends with him appearing in 13 games for the 49ers. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 33 guard out of 82 qualifying players.
