The San Diego Chargers announced Tuesday that they’ve promoted RB Dreamius Smith to their active roster.
- The Chargers placed rookie RB Melvin Gordon on season-ending injured reserve, so Smith will take his roster spot.
Smith, 23, wound up signing on with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of West Virginia back in May. However, he was unfortunately unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason.
Since then, Smith has been on and off of the team’s practice squad, so this could be a practice squad transaction.
Smith has yet to appear in an NFL game.
