Giants Place DT Markus Kuhn & LB James Morris On I.R., Promote Two

The New York Giants officially placed DT Markus Kuhn and LB James Morris on season-ending injured reserve Friday.

  • The Giants also promoted DE Brad Bars and TE Matt LaCosse to their active roster.

Kuhn, 29, is in the final year of his four-year, $2,145,896 rookie contract that included a $45,896 signing bonus. He’ll make a base salary of $660,000 this season before becoming an unrestricted free agent next year.

This season, Kuhn appeared in 10 games and recorded 20 tackles, a half sack, and a fumble recovery for the Giants.

Morris, 24, originally signed on with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of Iowa back in May of last year. He returned to the Patriots on an exclusive rights deal, but was among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason.

The Giants later added him to their practice squad and called him up just a few weeks ago.

His 2015 season ends with him appearing in six games and recording two tackles.
