NFL Notes: Peyton Manning, Cowboys, Dolphins, & Saints

Peyton Manning

Broncos QB Peyton Manning tells Peter King of TheMMQB.com that he’ll likely pursue a lawsuit following the allegations that he took HGH several years ago when working his way back from a spinal fusion surgery.

Yeah, I probably will,” Manning said, per Pro Football Talk. “I’m that angry.”

  • Mike Florio points out that while Manning’s P.R. representative Ari Fleischer has said that Manning never failed a drug test for HGH, the NFL didn’t test for HGH until September 2014.

Cowboys

Cowboys executive VP Stephen Jones said that they plan to consider playing WR Dez Bryant in their season finale, despite the fact that they have nothing to play for.

“If he can play, he’ll play, but if he can’t then he won’t,” Jones said. “Certainly not worth putting him out there if he’s not healthy. Dez has worked hard this year to get back and play and I know he’s played through some injuries. We’ll just evaluate that as the week goes just like we did this week.”

Dolphins

  • Multiple sources told Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald. that Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill had blood in his urine late last week.
  • However, Beasley adds that the “cause and severity of the condition was not known.
  • Tannehill took another beating on Sunday and reportedly left the stadium with his “entire left leg wrapped.”

Saints

  • Saints owner Tom Benson released a statement saying that he has no intention of selling the franchise, despite concerns about his ability to oversee the team due health concerns.
  • Saints HC Sean Payton told reporters after Sunday’s game that RB C.J. Spiller was an inactive today because he’s still battling “health issues lingering from camp.” (Nick Underhill)
  • For what it’s worth, Spiller is widely expected to be a cap casualty in the coming months.
