Johnny Manziel “Done In Cleveland” Barring A Miracle, Cowboys An Option?

Update:

Jason Cole of B/R, citing a source within the Browns, reports that Johnny Manziel is “done in Cleveland” barring “some type of miracle.”

Cole mentions that Manziel has shown total irresponsibility late in the year, and coaches have told him that they’re not interested in Manziel.

According to Cole, the possibility exists that the Cowboys could have at least some interest in possibly bringing him in, but it sounds like Manziel may have a limited market in the event he’s available.

Peter King of MMQB writes that the Browns don’t want him anymore, but won’t say so for fear of eliminating any trade value for him.

King isn’t sure a single team would be willing to even claim Manziel off of waivers right now, let along trade for him.

Peter King of MMQB reports that the Cleveland Browns are “so done with” QB Johnny Manziel following the report that he was in Las Vegas Saturday night, despite being in the concussion protocol.

King mentions that he would be “stunned” if Manziel ever played another snap for the Browns. Interestingly enough, King mentions that Manziel wants to play for the Cowboys.

According to King, the Browns require players who are in the concussion protocol to be seen by their team doctor at 9 am on Sunday, even if they’re not playing. Manziel didn’t show up on Sunday and couldn’t be reach by phone, per King.

Manziel reportedly sat down at a blackjack table and a casino employee examined his photo ID exclaimed: “We’ve got Johnny Manziel with us tonight.

Manziel later posted a photo on Instagram showing him home with his dog and eventually added Avon, Ohio as the photo’s location.

Manziel, 23, is in the second year of his four-year, $8,247,250 rookie contract that included $6,702,625 guaranteed. He’ll make a base salary of $794,936 this season and another $1,169,872 in 2016.

This season, Manziel has appeared in nine games and thrown for 1,500 yards while completing 57.8 percent of his passes to go along with seven touchdowns and five interceptions. Manziel has also ran for 230 yards.

Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 31 quarterback out of 36 qualifying players.
