Redskins Signing CB Al Louis-Jean To Practice Squad

The Redskins are signing CB Al Louis-Jean to their practice squad on Tuesday, according his agent Sean Stellato, per Adam Caplan.

Washington’s practice squad is currently full, which means they’ll likely promote someone to their active roster or release a players. Here’s what their practice currently looks like:

  1. DT Kamal Johnson
  2. WR Colin Lockett
  3. TE Ray Hamilton (Injured)
  4. RB Mack Brown
  5. LB Derrick Mathews
  6. LB Lynden Trail
  7. WR Laron Byrd
  8. DT Anthony Johnson
  9. C Austin Reiter
  10. T Takoby Cofield
  11. DE Corey Crawford

Louis-Jean, 22, signed on with the Bears an an undrafted free agent out of Boston College last year. He was unable to make the team’s final 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but he later signed to the team’s practice squad and wound up appearing in a number of games last season.

The Bears elected to re-sign Louis-Jean to a two-year contract back in February, but he was unfortunately among their roster cuts at the start of the season. The Redskins brought him in for a tryout a month ago, so he was clearly on their radar.

In 2014, Louis-Jean recorded nine tackles and a pass defense over the course of nine games for the Bears.
