Jaguars Worked Out Punters Brandon Fields & Spencer Lanning

Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports that the Jaguars worked out P Brandon Fields, K Marvin Kloss, and P Spencer Lanning this week.

It’s interesting to see the Jaguars bring in some punters this week, as Bryan Anger will be an unrestricted free agent in the coming months, so they could be looking at alternatives in case they don’t re-sign him.

Fields, 31, is a former seventh-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2007. He had two years remaining on his five-year, $14.424 million contract when the Dolphins released him at the start of the season.

New Orleans elected to sign him to a contract a few moths ago, but he lasted just a few weeks in New Orleans.

This season, Fields has appeared in two games for the Saints, totaling 391 yards punting on 10 attempts to go along with two touchbacks.

Lanning, 27, originally signed on with the Bears as an undrafted free agent out of back in 2011. He spent just a few months in Chicago before he was waived at the start of the 2011 season.

Since then, Lanning has played for the Jaguars, Jets, Browns, Buccaneers, Broncos and most recently for the Bears.

This season, Lanning appeared in one game for Chicago and totaled three punts for 107 yards and no touchbacks.
