Texans Impending FAs Jared Crick & Ben Jones Hoping To Re-Sign With Team

Texans impending free agents DL Jared Crick and C Ben Jones both said Sunday that they’re hoping to re-sign with the team and be back in Houston next year, per Aaron Wilson.

Both players are in line to be free agents in the coming months.

Crick, 26, was taken in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL draft. He played out his four-year, $2,491,500 rookie contract, which included a base salary of $1,542,000 this season.

In 2015, Crick appeared in all 16 games for the Texans and recorded 48 tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble, two recoveries and two pass defenses for the Texans. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 52 defensive end in a 3-4 defense out of 57 qualifying players.

Jones, 26, was also taken in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL draft. He too played out his four-year, $2,581,448 rookie contract, which included a base salary of $1,542,000 for the 2015 season.

Jones appeared in every game this season, and has yet to miss a contest since entering the league. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 23 center out of 40 qualifying players.
