Junior Galette Wants To Sign Long-Term Deal With Redskins

Redskins impending free agent OLB Junior Galette wants to sign a long-term with Washington, per Mike Jones.

Galette was suffered an Achilles’ tear during a preseason practice, which led to him being placed on season-ending injured reserve at the start of the regular season.

Galette said that he is back running now and doing short sprints. He plans to be a full-go in March.

The NFL later suspended Galette for two games for violating the league’s personal-conduct policy for his role in a January incident in which he was accused of domestic violence.

Washington has said that they would like to bring him back, so it would not be surprising to see them get something worked out in the coming months.

Galette, 27, received a one-year, $745,000 contract from the Redskins and is in line to be a free agent next March.

In 2014, Galette appeared in all 16 games for the Saints and recorded 45 tackles, 10 sacks, three forced fumbles, two safeties and two pass defenses. That year, Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 4 defensive end in a 4-3 defense out of 59 qualifying players.
