Jets Sign 4 More Players To Futures Deals Including OL Lawrence Okoye

The New York Jets announced that they’ve signed four players to future/reserve contracts on Monday including OL Lawrence Okoye, G Craig Watts, TE Adrien Robinson and OT Jesse Davis.

The Jets have signed a number of players to futures contracts including:

  1. DB Kendall James
  2. TE Brandon Bostick
  3. WR Joe Anderson
  4. OLB Deion Barnes
  5. G Jarvis Harrison
  6. OLB Julian Howsare
  7. TE Wes Saxton
  8. CB Kevin Short
  9. NT Deon Simon
  10. OLB Julian Stanford

Future/reserve contracts are essentially an opportunity for players compete for a roster spot in offseason workouts and training camp.

Okoye, 24, originally signed on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent back in 2013. He was considered to be a developmental project, seeing as he was a former rugby and track star.

Okoye spent a little over two years in San Francisco before he was waived at the start of the 2015 season and later added to the Cardinals practice squad.

The Jets, interestingly enough, elected to make Okoye an offensive lineman upon adding him to their practice squad.

Okoye has yet to appear in an NFL game.

Robinson, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the Giants back in 2012. He spent four years in New York before he was waived during roster cuts at the start of the regular season.

In 2014, Robinson appeared in all 16 games for the Giants and caught five passes for 50 yards and a touchdown..
