Terrance Knighton Hoping To Re-Sign With Redskins

Redskins impending free agent NT Terrance Knighton said he’s hoping to re-sign with the team and return to Washington next year.

“I’m going to take it a day at a time, wait out the process,” Knighton explained, via CSN Mid Atlantic. “This will be my third time going though it now.

Hopefully,” Knighton added, “I’m here.”

Knighton mentioned that he still believes he has a lot of football left in him.

“I have a lot of football left in me,” Knighton said. “I feel like I can contribute to a team. Lot of people look at the numbers [but] I’ve been a 30-tackle, two, three sack guys my whole career. Hopefully, somebody still needs a run stuffer.

Knighton, 29, signed a one-year, $4 million contract with the Redskins after finding a limited amount of interest last year. He’ll be an unrestricted free agent again in 2016.

In 2015, Knighton appeared in 15 games for the Redskins and totaled 29 tackles and 1.5 sacks. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 27 defensive tackle out of 70 qualifying players.
