New Eagles HC Doug Pederson: Sam Bradford Is A “Top-Notch QB” Who Fits His Offense “Perfectly”

New Eagles HC Doug Pederson mentioned during his introductory press conference on Tuesday that impending free agent Sam Bradford a “top-notch quarterback” and believes he would fit “perfectly” in his offense.

The Eagles face an interesting situation with Bradford, as he was hand-picked by Pederson predecessor Chip Kelly. However, Bradford is now in position to test the open market and outside of Kirk Cousins, should be the best available option at quarterback.

Last month, Bradford told reporters that he wants to be back in Philadelphia, so there’s a chance that they could get a deal done before the start of free agency.

I want to be back here,” Bradford said, via Pro Football Talk. “Obviously, we are not at the stage where we have been talking about that, but if it does present itself and I do have the opportunity, then this is where I want to be.”

Although, others have said that Bradford may prefer to move on and look for a new opportunity.

Bradford, 28, is in the final year of his six-year, $78 million contract that included $50 million guaranteed. He made a base salary of $12.985 million for the 2015 season and will be an unrestricted free agent in the coming months.

The free agent market for quarterbacks isn’t very deep with Bradford, Kirk Cousins, and Ryan Fitzpatrick being the most notable players.

This season, Bradford has thrown for 3,725 yards while completing 66 percent of his passes to go along with 19 touchdown passes and 14 interceptions. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 12 quarterback out of 37 qualifying players.

We have Bradford featured in our Top 2016 Free Agents list.
