NFL Notes: Johnny Manziel, 49ers, Seahawks, & Titans

Johnny Manziel

Albert Breer of NFL Media writes Browns QB Johnny Manziel‘s days in Cleveland are numbered as there’s reportedly “significant doubt” with the organization will be able to handle the demands that new HC Hue Jackson puts on his players.

According to Breer, the expectation for the new staff in regards to the quarterback position is that they more or less “take up residence at the facility during the season, and be a round-the-clock presence.

In order for Manziel to have any shot of remaining with the Browns, Breer suggests he’s going to need to convince a lot of people in Cleveland very, very quickly that he’s capable of being that kind of gym rat.

Seahawks

Seahawks GM John Schneider confirmed during an interview with Seattle’s KIRO-AM that TE Jimmy Graham will be back for the 2016 season.

“I think people were a little hard on Jimmy,” Schneider said, via NFL.com. “He kind of started going when our offense started going. I look at it as just part of our maturation offensively, like how we were coming together early in the season. I don’t look at it like he wasn’t the Jimmy Graham of old. You’re talking about a guy who gets doubled and bracketed all the time. When you try forcing an offense, you try developing your offense around one person, that’s where you run into trouble.

“I understand why people would say, ‘Why didn’t he come in here and just take the team to another level early on?’ But I think the whole offensive unit we were just trying to find our way early on.

  1. Cleveland would be OK if they just installed a bar with pole dancers right off the gym facilities. Johnny Football will feel right at home.
