NFL Notes: Coach Communication System, Marshawn Lynch, 49ers, & Buccaneers

Coach Communication System

Ian Rapoport reports that the NFL will test a new and improved coach-to-coach communication system developed by Bose at the Pro Bowl next week.

As long as the test goes smoothly, the new system could be implemented for the 2016 season.

A number of teams have complained about the in-game communications not working appropriately in recent years, so it’s really about time for the league to explore new technology to prevent these issues moving forward.

Marshawn Lynch

Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch‘s mother said she’s unsure if her son will play another season.

49ers

49ers GM Trent Baalke said that he hasn’t received any notification from the NFL that retired RT Anthony Davis has applied for reinstatement.

“As of right now, I’ve got no notification from the league to say that he has [filed for reinstatement],” Baalke said, via CSN Bay Area. “But that period is still open.”

Buccaneers

  • PewterReport doesn’t see the Buccaneers trading backup QB Mike Glennon this offseason, as good backup quarterbacks are too valuable in NFL.
  • Instead, PewterReport can see the Buccaneers waiting to receive a compensatory pick for Glennon in 2018 after he departs in free agency next year.
