$10M Per Year Could Be “Floor” For Bills LT Cordy Glenn’s Next Contract

Tyler Dunne of the Buffalo News reports that Bills impending free agent LT Cordy Glenn‘sfloor” could be $10 million annually in his next contract.

Dunne mentions that a number of factors are likely to be in Glenn’s favor this offseason, as he’s still just 26 years old, plays a premium position that has little depth in this year’s free agent market, and rookies have really struggled to make an immediate impact at left tackle in the NFL.

Dunne doesn’t rule out the possibility that the Bills could franchise Glenn. Although, that would run them around $10 million to $11 million.

As of now, there haven’t been any substantive talks between the two sides, according to Dunne.

However, Bills GM Doug Whaley said Tuesday that they are “starting the process” in regards to re-signing Glenn and fellow free agent G Richie Incognito to contract extensions.

Glenn, 26, has played out his four-year, $4,865,180 rookie contract and is in line to be one of the most sought after free agents in this year’s free agent market.

With the cap rising again this year, and limited offensive tackle depth, it wouldn’t be shocking to see him secure a massive contract.

In 2015, Glenn appeared in all 16 games for the Bills and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 9 offensive tackle out of 76 qualifying players.

We have Glenn featured in our Top 2016 Free Agents list.
