Grant Paulsen of 106.7 The Fan reports that the Redskins have signed DE Ziggy Hood to a one-year contract.

Washington recently brought Hood in a for a workout, so he was clearly on their radar.

Hood, 28, is a former first-round pick of the Steelers back in 2009. He played out his rookie contract with the Steelers before signing a four-year agreement with the Jaguars in March of last year.

However, the Jaguars elected to release Hood from injured reserve a few months ago. The Bears later signed him to a contract after they released veteran DT Jay Ratliff before cutting him loose close to a month ago.

In 2015, Hood appeared in two games, but didn’t record a single statistic.
