Mike Tolbert “Absolutely” Wants To Re-Sign With Panthers

Panthers FB Mike Tolbert said Tuesday that he “absolutely” wants to re-sign with Carolina during the offseason.

Absolutely,” Tolbert said Tuesday, via the Charlotte Observer. “We’ll take care of all the business aspects of my contract after the season. I would love to stay, but you never know what happens. We’ll see.”

Tolbert admitted that he’ll still need to do what’s best for his family, even if it involves relocating.

“These guys are my brothers. I don’t want to leave anymore than the next guy. But I have to do what’s best for my family and for me. If moving is part of it, then that’s a part of it. But I don’t want to.

Tolbert, 30, is in the final year of his four-year, $10 million contract and will make a base salary of $2,400,000 for the 2015 season.

During the regular season, Tolbert appeared in all 16 games for the Panthers and ran for 256 yards on 62 carries (4.1 YPC) to go along with 18 receptions for 154 yards receiving and four total touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 11 fullback out of 22 qualifying players.
