Saints Sign CFL LB Erik Harris To Futures Deal

The New Orleans Saints signed CFL LB Erik Harris to a reserve/futures contract on Wednesday, according to Drew Edwards of 3 Down Nation.

Harris is actually a former teammate of Saints CB Delvin Breaux, who played for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats a few years ago.

Future/reserve contracts are essentially an opportunity for players compete for a roster spot in offseason workouts and training camp.

Harris, 25, played both linebacker and safety, but it’s likely he’ll compete for a job at linebacker with the Saints.

During his three seasons with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Harris recorded 79 tackles, three sacks, and three interceptions. He also caught a touchdown pass during the 2014 season.
