Bengals WR Marvin Jones Loves Cincinnati, But Plans To Test Open Market

Bengals impending free agent WR Marvin Jones mentioned during an interview with the NFL Network that although he enjoys being in Cincinnati, it would be a mistake to not test the open market.

I love Cincinnati,” Jones said Wednesday. “I’d like to be back .But at the same time, I am a free agent. It wouldn’t be good for me not to test the waters a little bit. It’s just an exciting process.

Jones added that he won’t be offering the Bengals a hometown discount to be back with them next year.

Jones, 25, is a former fifth-round pick of the Bengals back in 2012. He played out his rookie contract and is now in line to be among the most sought after receivers in this year’s market.

In 2015, Jones appeared in all 16 games and recorded 65 receptions for 816 yards receiving and four touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 50 receiver out of 119 qualifying players.

We have Jones included in our Top 50 – 2016 Free Agents list.
