NFL Notes: Johnny Manziel, Colin Kaepernick, Roger Goodell, & Chargers

Johnny Manziel

Browns QB Johnny Manziel tells TMZ Sports that he didn’t hit his ex-girlfriend Colleen Crowley.

“I’m completely stable. I’m safe and secure,” Manziel said while adding: “I have great things coming ahead.

“I know I’ve been having fun but I just need to get my body right,“Manziel said. “I’m 100% committed to playing football.”

Colin Kaepernick

Tim Kawakami of the Mercury News has heard for a while now that the Jets have interest in 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick.

Interestingly enough, Kawakami has also heard that the Texans and Broncos could be potential landing spots for Kaepernick as well.

Should Kaepernick end up being available, Kawakami expects there to be a demand for him.

With this in mind, Kawakami mentions that if the 49ers want Kaepernick to take a pay cut, he’ll be happy to wait for his release and move elsewhere.

Roger Goodell

  • NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith said that he’s “cautiously optimistic” they will reach a resolution with NFL over a change to commissioner Roger Goodell’s role in player discipline. (Mike  Garafolo)
