Broncos DC Wade Phillips Named 2015 NFL Assistant Coach Of The Year

Broncos defensive coordinator Wade Phillips has been named the 2015 NFL Assistant Coach of the Year.

Phillips, 68, sat out the 2015 season before the Broncos elected to bring him in to run their defense after Jack Del Rio parted for the Raiders head-coaching job. The move proved to be a major success for the Broncos and Phillips and they’re now facing off against the Panthers in Super Bowl 50.

During the regular season, Phillips’ defense ranked No. 1 one in fewest yards allowed, No. 1 one in fewest passing yards allowed, No. 3 one in fewest rushing yards allowed, and No. 4 one in fewest points allowed
