Contracts For Panthers WR Jerricho Cotchery & S Roman Harper Void Making Them UFAs

According to Joel Corry of CBS Sports, Panthers WR Jerricho Cotchery and S Roman Harper’s 2016-2018 contract years void today.

This means that both players will be unrestricted free agents this March.

Corry mentions that the Panthers will carry cap charges of $2.25 million from bonus prorations relating to Cotchery and Harper’s voiding contract years.

Cotchery, 33, signed a signed a five-year, $8,015,000 contract with the Panthers that included $2,250,000 guaranteed.

He has said that he wants to re-sign with Carolina, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Panthers took for younger options in free agency.

In 2015, Cotchery appeared in 14 games and caught 39 passes for 485 yards receiving and three touchdowns for the Panthers.

Harper, 33, signed a five-year, $10,625,000 contract with the Panthers that included $1,500,000 guaranteed.

In 2015, Harper appeared in all 16 games for the Panthers and recorded 73 tackles, two fumble recoveries and five pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 67 safety out of 88 qualifying players.
