Lions Won’t Re-sign Veteran C Manny Ramirez

According to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, the Lions won’t be bringing C Manny Ramirez back next year.

Birkett mentions that both parties are ready to move after a season in which Ramirez was relegated to being a backup.

Ramirez, 33, was drafted by the Lions in the fourth-round of the 2007 draft. He spent four years in Detroit before joining the Broncos as an unrestricted free agent in 2012.

However, he was later traded back to the Lions as part of the Broncos moving up in the draft for Shane Ray last year.

In 2015, Ramirez appeared in all 16 games for Detroit, and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 22 guard out of 82 qualifying players.
