“Virtually No Chance” Of Bengals Re-Signing Mohamed Sanu

Alex Marvez of FOX Sports, citing multiple sources, reports that there’s “virtually no chance” of the Bengals re-signing WR Mohamed Sanu.

Instead, Sanu is expected to pursue other opportunities in free agency.

Sanu told Marvez on Thursday that his agent, Mike McCartney, “hasn’t really said anything about communication with the Bengals” regarding a new contract.

We’re just being patient,” Sanu said. “You never know as the next couple weeks heat up. We’ll see what happens.”

Marvez lists the Browns, Falcons, and Giants as teams expected to have interest in Sanu once free agency opens in the coming weeks.

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports also mentioned that Sanu is likely to be a target for the Giants, so this figures to be something to keep an eye on.

Sanu, 26, was taken in the third round of the 2012 NFL draft. He’ll be an unrestricted free agent in the coming weeks.

In 2015, Sanu appeared in all 16 games and caught 33 passes for 394 yards receiving to go along with 71 yards rushing and two touchdowns.
