Packers Expect To Re-Sign K Mason Crosby

Rob Demovsky of ESPN reports that the Packers have been engaged in “regular talks” with the agent for K Mason Crosby.

According to Demovsky, the Packers expects to get a deal done with Crosby kicker without needing to use the franchise tag.

Crosby was mentioned as a potential franchise tag candidate for the Packers, depending on how contract talks went in the coming weeks. However, it looks like they’ll be able to prevent him from reaching the open market.

Crosby, 31, is a former sixth-round pick of the Packers back in 2007. He’s in line to be an unrestricted free agent in the coming weeks.

In 2015, Crosby appeared in all 16 games and converted 24 of 28 field goal attempts (85.7 percent) to go along with all 36 extra point tries and 40 touchbacks.
