Broncos

Broncos president/GM John Elway told reporters that he met with QB Peyton Manning a couple nights ago, but he needs more time to determine what his next step will be.

“He still needs more time, so we’re going to afford him that time,” Elways said, per Nicki Jhabvala.

• Elway seems to think there isn’t much difference between the Peyton from last year and the years before: “Peyton is the same Peyton he was. It’s going to come down to what he wants to do.” (Nicki Jhabvala)
• In regards to QB Brock Owseiler, Elway said: “We’re really not in a hurry. Brock knows what we have to offer and we still have a great deal of interest in Brock.“(Nicki Jhabvala)

Dolphins

• According to Tony Pauline, the word around the Combine is the Miami Dolphins are “50/50” on whether to franchise DE Olivier Vernon.

Packers

Packers GM Ted Thompson mentioned that the want to have LT David Bakhtiari for a “long time“, which appears to be an indication that they could discuss a contract extension in the coming months.

“A lot of good fortune and good luck and certainly outstanding effort on the part of Bakhtiari,” said Thompson Thursday, via 247Sports.com. “We like having him on our team, he’s a good teammate and looking forward to having him on our team for a long time to come.”

Texans

• According to Aaron Wilson, the Texans are meeting with the representatives for G Brandon Brooks at the combine along with other pending free agents.
