Falcons Reported Have LB Danny Trevathan “High On” Their Radar

Vaughn McClure of ESPN reports that Broncos free agent LB Danny Trevathan is “high on the Falcons’ radar” this offseason.

McClure mentions that linebacker happens to be one of the Falcons’ biggest offseason areas of need, and Trevathan previously played for LBs Richard Smith while in Denver a few years ago.

According got McClure, the Falcons are believed to be willing to spend $5 million to $6 million per season for a linebacker, but this may not be enough for them to land Trevathan, who will likely be among the best available free agents in this year’s class.

Trevathan, 25, was taken in the sixth round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Broncos. He’s in the final year of his four-year, $2,204,072 rookie contract and will be an unrestricted free agent this March.

In 2015, Trevathan appeared in 15 games for the Broncos and recorded 110 tackles, no sacks, two interceptions with one of them being returned for a touchdown and six pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 6 inside linebacker out of 60 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 100 – 2016 Free Agents list.
