Brandon Mebane Hoping To Finish Career With Seahawks, Still Plans To Visit With Teams

Seahawks DT Brandon Mebane mentioned during an interview with 710 ESPN’s “Justin and Gee that he would “love to” return to Seattle and finish out his career with the team.

“I’d love to be back out there in Seattle, finish my career in Seattle,” Mebane said,  via MyNorthWest.com. “I’ve been there nine years, so why not?”

Mebane did, however, acknowledged he has interest with prospective teams and it’s likely he’ll be taking some free agent visits in the coming weeks.

“That’s part of the process of being a free agent, but that don’t really mean a whole lot,” Mebane said. “Taking a visit don’t really mean nothing. It’s just like recruiting all over again, like out of high school going to college. You take five visits when you’re in high school and you go visit places.

“That’s all part of the process, as far as taking trips here and there, but it’s just a trip, it ain’t really like saying a whole lot.

Mebane, 31, was taken in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft and is now in position to be an unrestricted free agent next week.

In 2015, Mebane appeared in 15 games for the Seahawks and recorded 24 tackles and 1.5 sacks. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 70 interior defensive lineman out of 123 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 100 – 2016 Free Agents list.
