Saints Interested In Re-Signing K Kai Forbath

Joel Erickson of the Advocate reports that the Saints have spoken to free agent K Kai Forbath about returning to New Orleans.

According to Erickson, even if the Saints do re-sign Forbath, they could still bring in a young kicker to compete with him for the job.

Forbath, 28, originally signed on with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of back in 2011. He lasted around eight months with the team before he was placed on waivers and later claimed by the Redskins.

Last year, Washington placed an original round tender on Forbath, but elected to cut him mid-season. Forbath wound up catching on with the Saints in October after they waived Zach Hocker

In 2015, Forbath appeared in 11 games and converted just 10 of 15 field goal attempts to go along with 34 of 35 extra point tries and 22 touchbacks.
