Panthers Release Veteran DT Dwan Edwards

The Carolina Panthers announced the release of DT Dwan Edwards on Thursday.

The Panthers have been very active today, as they’ve already parted ways with DE Charles Johnson and re-signed G Chris Scott to a one-year contract.

Edwards, 34, was in the final year of his two-year, $4 million contract that included a $1 million signing bonus. He was set to make a base salary of $1.1 million for the 2016 season.

In 2015, Edwards appeared in 12 games for the Panthers and recorded 14 tackles and a sack.
