Giants Use Low-Round Tender On RFA TE Larry Donnell

Tom Pelissero of USA Today reports that the Giants used a low-round tender on restricted free agent TE Larry Donnell on Thursday.

The low-round tender will cost the Giants $1,671,000 for the 2016 and give them the right of first refusal on any contract offer they receive. However, if they elect to not match an offer sheet, the would not receive any compensation for him.

Donnell, 27, wound up signing on with the Giants as an undrafted free agent out of Grambling State back in 2012. His 2015 season ended with him being placed on season-ending injured reserve due to a neck injury.

Last year, Donnell appeared in eight games for the Giants and recorded 29 receptions for 223 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
