Peyton Manning‘s agent, Tom Condon, indicated that the Broncos may need to decide on his client’s future with the team before he’s ready to decide on whether to return next year.
“There’s a time when the contract becomes guaranteed, so they’ll just have to make a move before then,” Condon said during an interview with The Mighty 1090 on Friday, via Pro Football Talk. “He’s completely aware of the guarantee obligation from the club on a date certain, and he knows that there has to be some accommodation prior to that.”
Condon still isn’t sure if Manning is actually considering a return in 2016.
“I couldn’t answer that accurately,” Condon said of whether Manning will retire. “I know better than to ask him. I understand that when he makes up his mind as to what he wants to do, he’s gonna let me know. But as of now, he wanted to take his time and be patient with the decision and make sure that he is sure. . . . Let’s face it, he loves it. He loves being the locker room, he loves working out and of course the interaction with his teammates, and he loves the game.”

Browns HC Hue Jackson said that he believes free agent C Alex Mack‘s value is “up their with a quarterback.”
“You can put it up there with the quarterback when you have a guy like that who has played so well for so long,” Jackson said, via Nate Ulrich of Ohio.com. “We understand the situation that he’s in, and he has a right to do what he’s doing right now.”
Jackson added that he’s “love” to have Mack back next year.
“I’d love to have Alex back, and I think you guys all know that,” Jackson said. “I said that last week [at the NFL Scouting Combine]. He’s a tremendous football player, and he has the right to [opt out], and we’ll see how this all unfolds when it’s over. But Alex knows how I feel about him, how we feel about him, and we’ll see how it ends up.”
