Jason Cole of B/R reports that the Titans are currently in the lead for Jets free agent DT Damon Harrison and view him as a huge boost for their defense.
Harrison has reportedly generated a lot of interest so far, and Cole anticipates even more teams contacting him in the coming days.
The Jets would reportedly like to retain Harrison, but the cost of doing so will be a big issue for them, considering the money they’ve already invested in their defensive line. Cole believes it could take a team-friendly deal for him to be back in New York.
Harrison, 27, wound up signing on with the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of William Penn back in 2012. Last year, he was brought back on a one-year restricted tender and is now in position to sign a big contract as an unrestricted free agent.
In 2015, Harrison appeared in all 16 games for the Jets and recorded 72 tackles, a half sack, and a forced fumble.
