Cowboys Use Second-Round Tender On G Ronald Leary

Todd Archer reports that the Cowboys placed a second-round tender on restricted free agent G Ronald Leary.

  • The Cowboys also used low-round tender on S Jeff Heath.

The second-round tender will cost the Cowboys $2.553 million for the 2016 season and net them a second-round pick if he receives an offer sheet from another team. and they elect to pass on matching it.

As for Heath’s low-round tender, it will run them $1,671,000 for the 2016 season and give them the right of first refusal.

Leary, 26, wound up signing on with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of back in 2012. He spent part of the 2012 season on their practice squad, but has since made the 53-man roster each season.

In 2015, Leary was limited to appearing in four games.
