Vincent Bonsignore reports that the Rams are in “good position” to to re-sign free agent LB Mark Barron.

Los Angeles Rams HC Jeff Fisher previously mentioned that re-signing Barron will be a “priority” for them this offseason, so it appears as though they’ve prioritized re-signing him now that they’ve lost CB Janoris Jenkins to the Giants.

Barron, 26, came over in a trade with the Buccaneers last year that sent fourth- and sixth-round selections to Tampa Bay in return for the former first-round pick.

The Rams ultimately declined to pick up his fifth-year option in April, which would have run them $8.263 million for the 2016 season.

In 2015 Barron appeared in all 16 games for the Rams and recorded 116 tackles, one sack, three forced fumbles and five pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 20 linebacker out of 97 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 100 – 2016 Free Agents list.
