Brian Hoyer Doesn’t Have Any Other Visits Scheduled

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that free agent QB Brian Hoyer doesn’t have any other visits with NFL team scheduled at this point in time.

On Thursday, Broncos GM John Elway mentioned that Hoyer may have another visit lined up. However, the plan for Hoyer is to reportedly head home and see what happens over the next few days.

Florio expects Hoyer to remain in contact with the Jets and Broncos, who are both interested in him to some degree.

Previous reports have said that Hoyer has interest from at least six teams with the Steelers and Cowboys both coming up as teams to watch.

It’s worth mentioning that signing Hoyer to a contract wouldn’t factor into a team’s 2017 compensatory picks.

Hoyer, 30, was in the final year of his two-year, $10.5 million contract and was set to make a base salary of $5.25 million for the 2016 season. However, no trade surfaced for him, which is why the Texans have elected to release him in a move that will free up $4,859,375 in available cap space.

In 2015, Hoyer appeared in 11 games and accumulated 2,606 passing yards, 19 touchdowns, one interception and completed 60.7 percent of his passes. Pro Football Focus rated Hoyer as the No. 31 quarterback out of 38 qualifying players.

We have Hoyer featured in our Best Available Free Agents list.
