Dolphins Considering Trade Up For Ezekiel Elliott Or Myles Jack?

Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, citing multiple sources, reports that the Dolphins will consider the possibility of trading for Ohio State RB Ezekiel Elliott and UCLA LB Myles Jack.

Salugero mentions that the Dolphins would obviously love for either player to be available to them at No. 13 overall. However, there’s no guarantee that Elliott or Jack will be still be on the board by the time they’re on the clock Thursday.

It would be interesting to see the Dolphins trade for the No. 8 pick after they sent this selection to the Eagles in return for CB Byron Maxwell and LB Kiko Alonso, but reports have said that Cleveland is likely still open for business and that’s a point where they should have a good opportunity to get one of these two players.

If the Dolphins are to trade back into the top 10, Salugero believes it could cost them a fourth-round pick among other assets or possibly even a third-round pick.

Miami missed out on a number of notable running backs in free agency, even though they did manage to sign C.J. Anderson to an offer sheet before the Broncos elected to match the agreement.

Elliott is by far the best running back in this year’s draft class, and would really help to solidify their backfield in the coming years.

As for Jack, reports are all over the place in terms of where he may end up. Some believe he’ll definitely fall out of round one, while others can see him being play for teams drafting anywhere from No. 7 – No. 15 overall.

I’m sure there are plenty of teams looking to move back for more picks, so I wouldn’t expect anything to happen regarding a potential trade until Thursday evening.

We’ll have more regarding the Dolphins and their draft plans as the news is available.
